Where it started

Moving from Caracas to Madrid meant trading the familiar for a city full of possibility — one of them arrived with a monitor, unfamiliar syntax, and no shortage of frustration.

But I'd never felt like I belonged anywhere the way I did on this path. I enrolled in college as soon as I could, determined to turn what I'd taught myself into something real.
